PistonCars.com – 2017 Audi R8 Spyder; the second-generation Audi R8 Supercar. The R8 Spyder was revealed at the 2016 New York Auto Show. This car is designed to be more attractive than its sibling, the R8 Coupe.
The 2017 R8 Spyder will be built at Audi’s Neckarsulm plant in Germany. The overall concept of the car will be a supercar with the V-10 engine.
2017 Audi R8 Spyder; Specification
The construction of the new R8 Spyder comes with the extensive use of aluminium and carbon fiber. It means it will be 458 pounds lighter than the old model. The features provided by Audi in the 2017 R8 Spyder include a new lightweight soft top that can be opened and closed in 20 seconds at the speed up to 31 mph and a half side blade covering the air intakes just behind the doors.
The engine will be in a 5.2-liter V-10 rated at 540 horsepower and 398 ln-ft of torque. Another feature added is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Moreover, this supercar brings the all-wheel drive system. Then, it also provides an intelligent control system integrated to the Drive Select interface.
The interior features include Audi’s Virtual Cockpit System, Audi’s smartphone interface, the MMI infotainment system, 4G LTE connectivity and also an upgraded Bang & Olufsen system. It also brings standard features including sport seats, a front spoiler, a sport exhaust, side blades of different colors and LED headlights. There will be also the Audi phone box and racing bucket seats available in this car.
